Dr. Prakash Savanur completed his MBBS from the prestigious Mysore Medical College, Mysore. He obtained his Post-graduate Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from Bangalore Medical College, Bangalore. He worked in the UK NHS Hospitals from 2004 to 2022. He passed MRCOG from Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists London, in 2008 and was Awarded Certificate of Completion on Training (CCT) from GMC, UK in 2012.

He was awarded FRCOG in 2020 , completed his Fertility & Reproductive Medicine training in 2011. He also holds a certificate i Gynaecology Laparoscopy. He was awarded Reproductive Medicine Fellowship from Bart’s centre for Reproductive Medicine London 2016.

Dr. Prakash is proficient with all IVF related procedures for both female & male conditions and has helped many childless couple both in UK & India to conceive. Follower of ethical and evidence-based medicine, he would always keep patients fully informed and guide them in decision making process.

He is also involved with local NGO and OBG societies in spreading awareness on infertility related issues and options available in different forums. He has presented many posters and papers whilst working in UK.

Infertility Assessment

In this procedure, ova are extracted from a female. Then, In a laboratory, these ova are made to undergo the process of fertilisation with the sperm of the partner. Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI)

ICSI is a technique in which the sperm is injected into the oocyte of a woman. For women with advanced age or men with reproductive issues, this procedure can increase the likelihood of conception. It is generally performed together with the IVF procedure.

Pre-genetic Testing (PGT)

Before implantation, PGT is used for screening the embryos for chromosomal abnormalities and/or genetic diseases during the course of IVF-ICSI or IVF treatments. PGT allows doctors to select the optimum-quality embryos, which raises the success rate.

Testicular Sperm Aspiration (TESA)

TThis technique is used when an insufficient sperm count is seen in the semen. The sperm cells are obtained directly from the man’s testicles, and then, these sperm cells are fertilised with the oocytes of the female partner during IVF-ICSI and IVF procedures.

Percutaneous Epididymal Sperm Aspiration (PESA)

In this treatment, the epididymis is aspirated during an operation.

Cryopreservation

Cryopreservation is suitable for individuals or couples who want to become parents in the future as it allows them to store their eggs, sperm, or embryos. These preserved sperm, eggs, or embryos can be used in later IVF-ICSI or IVF procedures.
